This weekend I organized old photos and reflected on past travels as snow flurries came down. I wrote about the experiences over the years. This image made me daydream a bit.
This weekend my family attended the closing of the New York International Children’s Film Festival. The festival offered a variety of shorts and full length film, including animated works. The awards ceremony and filmmakers party were a fun way to end this kid friendly celebration.
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending Kids Fashion Week: petitePARADE a bi-annual showcase of children’s designers. The collections featured ranged from toddler to teen styles. This year the event took place at Bathhouse Studios in Manhattan. I attended the afternoon show that included Aria Children’s Clothing, Biscotti & Kate Mack, as well as Dillonger—which I loved. The execution of the collections and the talent of the young models made for an exciting show.
A favorite place for my family is the American Museum of Natural History with its massive permanent collection. The museum was founded well over a century ago, but the museum consistently integrates multimedia to update the halls and exhibitions. There are also hands on opportunities for kids, like touch carts and the Discovery Room which is always my son’s first stop. Most recently, my family attended the space show and viewed a special exhibition, Nature’s Fury which did not disappoint.
