Let Beauty Awake

This weekend, a friend invited me to her performance “Let Beauty Awake” at the National Opera Center.  I attended with my family (yes, my kindergartener too).  Afterwards, we took advantage of the spring weather and explored the area. We walked Highline Park and caught a glimpse of the new Whitney Museum building scheduled to open in May–stay tuned for my post on the “New Whitney” next week.

Hope On Wheels

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a luncheon for Hope On Wheels (philanthropy initiative of Hyundai).  “The Moms” co-hosted this beautiful event at the Warwick hotel. The moderator,  Rocsi Diaz interviewed those on the panel, including doctors from world renowned children’s hospitals. During the event, mothers of young cancer survivors shared their stories. This moving afternoon only emphasized the need for funding of pediatric cancer research.
