Bringing the Finger Lakes to NYC

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to taste and learn about Finger Lakes wines. Having lived in the area it was a pleasure to meet vendors from my old stomping ground. Such a fun event, with food,  crafts and glass blowing demonstrations by the Corning Museum.

Still thinking about Barbados…

While in Barbados last month,  I had the pleasure of visiting The Crane resort and residences. The beautifully landscaped property was the highlight of the trip. For my last full day on the island, I made a reservation for “Gospel Brunch” and spent some time on a nearby beach.  After touring the property (and yes, there is a kids club), I know exactly where I’ll stay when I return to Barbados.

Throwback to Barbados

I’ve wanted to post for weeks, but had to get my son settled into the new school year and myself back to work. Summer is over and there was a dip in the temperature here in New York. This made me long for sunny beaches.

My final summer trip was to Barbados. There we had plenty of sunshine, sandy beaches and sweet rum punch.  (Take a peek at photos of Dover Beach, Mount Gay Rum Tour, Harrison’s Cave and Oistins Fish Fry.) My hope is that the memories will keep me warm through the winter.
