Weekend in Philly

I had a fully booked weekend. The Travel and Adventure Show took place in Philadelphia at the Convention Center and I decided to take the quick train ride down from NYC.

An overnight trip, I easily attended the expo and had time to explore Philadelphia. CityPASS in hand–I saw the skyline, visited a museum, the zoo and took a bus tour.  Here’s a few photos!

Art and Exhibitions

It has been a busy couple of weeks for me, previewing museum exhibitions.  I wanted to share a few images and give you a sneak peek  of the shows opening this weekend.

#dinosamongus
The American Museum of Natural History‘s latest exhibit spotlights the connection between dinosaurs and everyday birds.  The polished exhibition offers information and interactivity. You’ll learn that–yes,  the common pidgeon is a descendant of dinosaurs.

This newly restored space now houses the contemporary collection for the Metropolitan Musuem.  Opening to the public this weekend, the music  performances and family programs caught my attention.  Look out for future articles on the new space.

The New York Historical Society‘s latest  exhibit highlights the extensive work of Mo Willems.  The whimsy of his illustration, humor in his writing and serious nature of his process are conveyed. A favorite author of my son, we will certainly return for special programs.
